This May, OuiShare Fest will unite 1000 collaborative economy visionaries from across the globe for three days of conference, co-creating and connecting in Paris. On the program, themed “Lost in Transition?” are inspiring speakers and thought leaders such as Jeremiah Owyang, Sara Horowitz, Charles Eisenstein, workshops, art performances and participative formats on topics such as the sharing economy, coworking, crowdfunding, makers and fablabs, alternative currencies and horizontal governance.
We’ve asked OuiShare Fest Chair Francesca Pick a couple of questions on what festival goers can look forward to in May.
1. What can festival goers expect from this year’s event?
This year we will take a very close look at all hot topics in the collaborative economy and especially be asking critical questions. Lead by our theme “Lost in Transition?”, this year’s focus is on understanding and debating the impacts of the Collaborative Economy on individual industries as well as society as a whole. As a highly participatory event,OuiShare Fest aims to create an open space that enables the interaction between speakers and attendees. The program will include a barcamp, an open stage for startups and an award ceremony, alongside formats such as keynotes, (un-)panels and workshops.
We also have a team working on the overall experience and the facilitation of connections between attendees, so…let yourself be surprised!
2. What was the highlight of last year’s Ouishare event?
The attendees of OuiShare Fest come from such diverse backgrounds, that I think each attendee may have had a different personal highlight. The “Factory”, a pop-up maker space where we produced open source windmills and furniture was surely one of them, alongside the visit from the French minister of state, and, most importantly, the all-night long OuiShare Love Party that everyone looks forward to on the last evening!
3. What are you looking forward to this year?
This year we’ve decided to dedicate one of our event spaces, a boat on the canal, solely to relaxation and connection activities, like yoga, meditation, improvisation and more. Apart from that, what I’m looking forward to most this year is meeting all the speakers, contributors and attendees, because it’s them who make the event so inspiring and interesting. I’m very excited about the Collaborative Economy innovators and entrepreneurs we have coming from all continents this year.
